PC with removable disk drives

I'm planning to rebuild the home file server this year.   The old one
is too small and too slow.   One feature I'd like to have, to make it
easier to upgrade, is some sort of external cartridge carrier for the
hard disks.  That would save removing cabinets and fighting with
cables when it's time to replace or upgrade the hard drives.  Does
anyone here have suggestions for which PC's or PC style handles drives
like that and if there are any sleeper deals on the last generation
hardware?
