Subject: [44Net] RIP
To: 44Net at cows.net

Amprgw is now sending its RIP updates as encapsulated UDP packets from
44.0.0.1 port 520 to 224.0.0.9 port 520.

That destination address is the multicast address specified by RFC2453
for RIPv2.

The encapsulation is via IPIP or IPUDP as specified by the gateway's
entry in the encap file.

Note that the UDP checksum is zero, as allowed by RFC768.  If this is
a problem for anyone, let me know and I'll generate it.

Below is a 'tcpdump' trace of one such packet.  Note that I still haven't
fixed this tcpdump to display plaintext-auth RIP correctly.

If you're interested in the C code that does this, I'll mail it to you.
I think it's too large to send unsolicited to the mailing list.
