Netgear EVA 2000 Media Player

I took it back...

Silly Netgear. They do a good job on some of the network boxes but the
appliances seem to be a bit lacking.

I would have kept the media player if it had a couple weak points but it
seems to have been consistently lame.

* Two USB slots - but it would support only 1 external drive at a time
* HDMI output connection - but only low res video. Wish I'd read the
Amazon reviews sooner. Most were complaining about the poor quality video.
* Low number of media formats supported.
* The web streaming applications require an external program running on a
PC. For a monthly subscription fee of course.
* No note on the web site of any update software releases..

For only $20 more, this box at Frys or Amazon is looking good. For
another $20 they have a networked version. Saturday is going to be a lot
of fun... Expensive too.

(lets see if I can sneak this Amazon link into the email...)
