So, I'm looking at the bytes/minute count. Maybe not the most accurate
indicator, but I think good enough for comparison. If you look back to my
previous posts, 9600 packet clocked in at about 41k bytes/minute.

When I say "1200" mode, that would be pre/de-emphasis audio (speaker/mic
connections). "9600" mode would be flat audio (discriminator/modulator).

So, the 3rd gear results I got above, in "1200" mode, beats 4800 PSK. The
author thinks we should be able to do better, and is sending me some beta
