ethanac.ampr.org
Ethanac isn't a host, per-se, as it's really an application, TNOS,
currently version 2.30, by Brian Lantz,
KO4KS, running on Vincent.ampr.org.
I use TNOS instead of the kernel networking capabilities as my on-air
interface for several reasons:
-
Familiar user interface, for AX.25 (unenhanced) and telnet clients
-
Independently configurable interfaces, especially timing. With two
radio ports at 1200 bps and two radio ports at 9600 bps, it's important
to configure timing for each radio port independently.
-
Most importantly currently, RIP routing support, with configurable "cost"
per interface.
TNOS has a bunch of additional nifty features, most of which I'm not using
at this time, including AX.25 PBBS support for users and automated forwarding.
It has a powerful scripting language, allowing the creation of extensions
to its capabilites. It also supports the world-wide amateur conference
bridge network. Be sure to take a look at Brian Lantz's web pages,
